Terms of Service
Effective September 26, 2026 · Last updated October 1, 2026
These are the rules for using Healthy Squirrel. They're deliberately short and in plain English. The most important one is the first: this is a food diary, not a doctor.
1. This is not medical advice
Healthy Squirrel calculates nutrition estimates and shows you patterns in what you eat. It does not diagnose, treat, or prevent anything, and nothing in it is medical, dietetic, or clinical advice. Targets are generic formulas applied to numbers you typed in, they are not personalized to your health.
Talk to a doctor or registered dietitian before making significant dietary changes, and always follow their guidance over the app's. See the full Health Disclaimer, which is part of these Terms.
2. Your account
You need to be at least 16 to create an account, and you agree to these Terms when you create one. You sign in with your email and a password: keep the password to yourself, since anyone who has it can sign in. You're responsible for what happens under your account. One person per account. Tell us at support@minmapo.resend.app if you think someone else has access.
3. Nutrition data comes from third parties
Food data comes from the USDA FoodData Central database, Open Food Facts, foods you create yourself, and, for photo and voice logging, an AI estimate. All of it can be wrong: databases contain errors, manufacturers change recipes, and a portion estimated from a photograph is a guess. Treat every number as an approximation, and don't rely on the app where precision matters medically (for example carbohydrate counting for insulin dosing).
4. Free and Pro plans
The free plan includes unlimited food logging, the full diary, dashboard, water and weight tracking, and a weekly allowance of metered features (currently 5 photo scans, 10 voice or typed meal logs, and 10 barcode scans per rolling 7 days).
Pro removes those weekly limits and adds the features listed on the upgrade screen, for $5.99/month or $59.99/year. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel any time from Settings, cancellation stops the next renewal and you keep Pro until the end of the period you've paid for.
Photo and voice logging are covered by fair use on every plan, Pro included. Each account has a daily limit on these AI features, well above normal use, and we may pause them for everyone for a short time if total use gets too high. When that happens the rest of the app keeps working.
Prices may change; we'll give you notice before a change affects your renewal, and you can cancel instead. We may adjust the free plan's allowances, and if we reduce them we'll say so in the app first.
4a. The Coach plan (beta)
Coach is a team plan, currently in beta: $30 per player per year, for at least 8 players (so from $240 a year), paid once a year. The team tools are in the app; billing, and Pro for each player on the roster, are arranged by email during the beta. Every player uses their own account and must meet the age rule in section 2.
A player shares with a team only by joining it with the coach’s code, and can leave at any time. Coaches must not use the app to pressure players about weight or food, and must only invite players who meet the age rule. Coach tools shown as coming (such as per-player targets) are not part of what you pay for until they are released. The refund terms below apply to Coach too.
5. Refunds
Email us within 14 days of a charge and we'll refund it, no argument and no questionnaire. After that, refunds are at our discretion. This is in addition to any cancellation or refund rights you have under the law where you live, not instead of them.
6. Your data is yours
You keep ownership of everything you log. You grant us only the permission needed to store it, sync it to your devices, and show it back to you. We don't sell it or use it to train models. You can export it in full or delete it entirely from Settings at any time, including after you stop paying. See the Privacy Policy.
7. Fair use
Please don't:
- scrape, resell, or redistribute the food database, or use the app to build a competing dataset;
- work around the metered limits, share one account between people, or automate requests to the photo recognition endpoint;
- upload anything illegal, or anything that isn't a photo of food;
- attack, overload, or probe the service.
We may suspend an account that does these things. If we suspend yours, you can still export your data.
8. Availability
We aim to keep Healthy Squirrel running but we don't promise uptime. It's provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, and it may change or be discontinued. If we ever shut the service down, we'll give at least 30 days' notice so you can export everything.
9. Limits on liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Healthy Squirrel is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, or for any health outcome arising from your use of the app. Where liability can't be excluded, it's capped at the greater of the amount you paid us in the previous 12 months or US$50.
Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't lawfully be limited, and if you're a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.
10. Ending things
You can stop using Healthy Squirrel whenever you like and delete your account from Settings. We may terminate an account for a serious or repeated breach of these Terms, with notice where practical.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA. If you're a consumer elsewhere, you keep the protections of your local law and can bring claims in your local courts.
12. Changes
We'll post material changes in the app before they take effect. Carrying on using Healthy Squirrel after that means you accept the new Terms; if you don't, cancel and export your data.
